AN IDEA ON ITS TOUR AROUND THE WORLD! "We have to get to know each other better ... ... it makes us understand one another better, trust each other more, and live together more peacefully." Under this motto, the UNITED BUDDY BEARS promote living together in peace and harmony on their global tour. Around 140 Buddy Bears (each 2 m tall) represent as many countries recognised by the United Nations. Since the first exhibition in Berlin in 2002, more than 20 million visitors worldwide have been able to admire the United Buddy Bears. Message: The Buddy Bears stand together hand in hand in a peaceful circle, promoting tolerance and under-standing among different nations, cultures and religions. Art and Culture: Each Buddy Bear has been designed by an artist on behalf of his or her native country. The international artists different styles are joined together in one work of art, spreading zest for life. The diverse design of the Buddy Bears always typical for the respective countries enables the visitors to experience a journey around the globe. Charity: Buddy Bear activities and aid for children in need have formed an inseparable unit. To date, over 1.600.000 € (end of november 2009) have been raised through donations and auctions in aid of UNICEF and local child relief organizations. DIE KUNST DER TOLERANZ - EINE IDEE AUF WELTTOURNEE "Wir müssen uns besser kennenlernen, ... ... dann können wir uns besser verstehen, mehr vertrauen und besser zusammenleben." Unter diesem Motto werben die UNITED BUDDY BEARS auf ihrer Welttournee für ein friedliches Zusammenleben. Die rund 140 Buddy Bären (jeder 2 m groß) repräsentieren ebenso viele von den Vereinten Nationen anerkannte Länder. Seit ihrer ersten Ausstellung 2002 in Berlin haben weltweit bereits über 20 Millionen Besucher die Bären bewundern können. Botschaft: Die Buddy Bären stehen friedlich Hand-in-Hand und werben für Toleranz und Verständigung zwischen Völkern, Kulturen und Religionen. Kunst und Kultur: Jeder Buddy Bär wurde individuell von einem Künstler für sein Heimatland gestaltet. Im fröhlichen Miteinander verbinden sich die unterschiedlichen Stilrichtungen der internationalen Künstler zu einem Gesamtkunstwerk, das Lebensfreude verbreitet. Durch die vielfältige, landestypische Gestaltung der Buddy Bären erlebt der Besucher eine Reise um den Erdball. Charity: Buddy Bär-Aktivitäten und Hilfe für Not leidende Kinder sind zu einer unzertrennlichen Einheit geworden. Durch Spenden und Versteigerungen von Buddy Bären sind bisher über 1.600.000 € (Stand: Ende November 2009) zu Gunsten von UNICEF sowie lokalen Kinderhilfsorganisationen zusammengekommen. Less
